About New York All Stars

New York All Stars Fitness & Performing Arts is one of Westchester County's fastest-growing youth enrichment organizations. Our mission is to build confident, resilient, and creative young people through competitive cheerleading, performing arts, fitness, leadership, and community.

We're looking for someone who shares that mission.

This is more than a coaching position. We're searching for an inspiring leader who will help shape the future of our cheerleading program while becoming an integral member of our leadership team.

Position Overview

The Head Cheerleading Coach & Program Director will oversee our All Star Cheerleading Program, leading practices, preparing teams for competitions, mentoring assistant coaches, and helping families feel welcomed and supported.

The ideal candidate believes that success is measured by far more than trophies. They value sportsmanship, teamwork, confidence, accountability, and creating an environment where every athlete can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly practices for multiple cheer teams, ages 4-16.
  • Choreograph and clean routines appropriate for each team's level.
  • Prepare athletes for competitions throughout the season.
  • Teach proper stunt progressions, jumps, tumbling technique, motions, dance, conditioning, and performance skills.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate coaches.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and disciplined team culture.
  • Communicate professionally with families regarding schedules, expectations, and athlete progress.
  • Assist with athlete evaluations, placements, and recruiting.
  • Coordinate practices, competitions, showcases, and special events.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to continue growing and improving the program.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, community outreach, and promotional events.
  • Represent New York All Stars with professionalism both inside and outside the gym.

Qualifications

  • Cheerleading coaching experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of stunting, tumbling progressions, choreography, and safety standards.
  • Experience working with children and teens.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and positive.
  • Ability to motivate athletes while maintaining high expectations.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

We're looking for someone who...

  • Loves coaching kids as much as winning.
  • Wants to help build a program, not simply coach a team.
  • Believes character development is just as important as athletic development.
  • Enjoys collaborating with families and fellow coaches.
  • Is excited to become a long-term leader within a growing organization.

What We Offer

  • Starting pay of $35/hour based on experience.
  • Paid training and curriculum support.
  • Year-round leadership opportunities.
  • Professional development.
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on young athletes while helping shape the future of one of Westchester's fastest-growing youth programs.
